Typical References since 2005

NSB Heringen (2009)

Modelstudy for planning a natural public open-air swimming pool

Based on prognostic model studies HYDROMOD investigate the hydrodynamic processes to improve a considerable shorter residence time within the entire basin. Furthermore the model results led to better hygienic conditions in the swimming bath and to an extensive decrease of operation costs..
Client: EKO-PLANT GmbH.

MADURA-Monitoring (2008 - 2009)

Simulation of hydrodynamics and transport processes and investigations related to water quality aspects within a pilot and demonstration system for monitoring of tropical estuaries and coastal waters applied to the Brantas River estuary, Surabaya (Indonesia).
Client: German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Offshore-Wind-Park Côte d'Albâtre (2008)

Oceanographic study for planning of an offshore wind farm on the french coast in the English Channel focussing on potential impacts and long-term effects of the wind and wave energy.
Client: Offshore Wind Technologie GmbH.

NSB Bielefeld-Brackwede (2009)

Modelstudy for planning a natural public open-air swimming pool

Based on prognostic model studies HYDROMOD investigate the hydrodynamic processes to improve a considerable shorter residence time within the entire basin. Furthermore the model results led to better hygienic conditions in the swimming bath and to an extensive decrease of operation costs.
Client: EKO-PLANT GmbH.

Lakes - Jewels of the landscape (2006)

Project-Website

Hydrophysical measurements (ADCP,ADV,CTD) and data-evaluation for the determination of characteristics and processes of the two lakes Krähen- and Mühlenteich. Simulation of current and transport processes to investigate the hygienic conditions (residence time) of an open-air public swimming bath.
Client: Department for Environmental Protection of the Hanseatic City Lübeck.

South - Sinai

Technical Assistance for the European Commission (2006 – 2008)

In the frame of an infrastructure programme the "European Commission" is funding in South-Sinai (Egypt) the purchase of equipment to control the environment and to support the local Bedouins. The task of HYDROMOD in the frame of the project "Technical Assistance for the purchase of a mooring buoy system, training equipment and tracking system for the Nature Conservation Sector in Sharm el Sheikh" is to prepare the technical specifications of the equipment to be purchased and to arrange the tender documents according to the "Practical Guide to contract procedures for EC external actions" (PRAG).
Client: European Commission.

Cooling Water Pond Euro-Park Coevorden-Emlichheim (2006)

A waste combustion plant was planned in connection with the erection of an industrial park on the German-Dutch border near the towns of Emlichheim and Coevorden. First plans included a 30 m deep cooling pond to take part of the heat. HYDROMOD was engaged in plausibility checks concerning first calculations. It looked also at the problem of short-term effects when large external recipients of the industrial waste heat fail briefly to use a large amount of energy.
Client: AEW PLAN GmbH (Abfall Energie Wasser), Köln (Cologne).

Nordsee-Monitoring-System

(2005 - 2007)

Project-Website

An Ocean Monitoring System for the Wadden Sea off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein combines measurements, data collation and evaluation, networking and operational modelling to a decision support tool.

HYDROMOD will develop an operational model for current and transport processes and is responsible for the Internet presentation.
Client: Raytheon Anschütz GmbH on behalf of the Ministry of Research, Economy and Transport, State of Schleswig-Holstein.
