Flood water management in Scottish inland waters (2015-2016)

Consulting services for the optimization of flood water protection measures in river catchment areas in Scotland.
Client: Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA)

DELIGHT (2013 - 2016)

The German-Chinese R&D-Project DELIGHT "Delta Information System for Geoenvironmental and Human Habitat Transition" investigates the water cycle and its influence in the Yellow River Delta (www.delight.eoc.dlr.de).

HYDROMOD is engaged in detailed model studies concerning the transport and dispersion of substances and river bank erosion. This includes hydrographical measurements. The project is undertaken in close cooperation with Chinese partners from the fields of water science.
Client: Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR)

Natural Bath Versmold (2013)

With fine-scale prognostic model simulations HYDROMOD investigated the hydrodynamic processes to reach considerable shorter residence times and improved water exchange for the designed configuration of a public bath in the German town of Versmold.
This can be achieved by optimised positions and alignments of blowpipes nozzles and spillovers and results in improved hygenic conditions as well as to lower construction and operation costs.
Client: EKO-PLANT GmbH

New lagoon on the Baltic sea coast (2010)

Modelling of hydrodynamic and thermohaline influences of a planned new lagoon on the current and water quality conditions of a coastal stretch in the southern Baltic Sea.
Client: Confidential

Dispersion of thermal plumes on the southern Baltic Sea coast (2010-2013)

Modelling of the dispersion of thermal plumes caused by warm water discharge into a bay on the southern Baltic Sea coast.
Client: Confidential

WISDOM II (2010 - 2014)

"Water Related Information System for the Sustainable Development
of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam"; 2nd Phase.

In the first phase the R&D-project WISDOM focused on monitoring and studying the water supply and water balance and their impacts within the Delta (www.wisdom.caf.dlr.de).
In WISDOM II HYDROMOD will carry out model studies and measurements focusing on particulars like bank erosion, sediment transport processes and aggradation in waterways. The project will be carried out in close cooperation with Vietnamese partners from water management research institutes and administrations.
Client: Federal Ministry of Education and Research

Natural Bath Immenreuth (2010)

Model study for planning a natural public open-air swimming bath

With fine-scale prognostic model simulations HYDROMOD investigated the hydrodynamic processes to reach considerable shorter residence times and improved water exchange for the designed configuration of the near-natural designed swimming pool of irregular shape and depth. This can be achieved by optimised positions and alignments of blowpipes nozzles and spillovers and results in improved hygenic conditions as well as to lower construction and operation costs.
Client: EKO-PLANT GmbH

Bathing Polder Norddeich; Water Management (2010)

Based on results of fine-scale prognostic model studies HYDROMOD analysed the hydrodynamic processes to improve the water exchange in a bathing polder which is determined by the tides of the adjacent Wadden Sea and controlled by sluices. The model was also applied to determine the optimum number and dimensions of these sluices.
Client: Publicly owned venture of the municipal of Norden and KED GmbH & Co. KG
